What the River Helds VI
Atmospheric Blue Series — Blue as Behaviour · 2026
80 H × 80 W × 4 D cm | Mixed media on canvas | Original artwork · Stretched · Unframed
What the River Helds VI holds a concentrated passage of blue within a quieter grey field. The colour appears gathered rather than evenly distributed, giving the square composition a sense of containment.
Soft transitions meet a more defined blue area near the lower part of the surface. The contrast between this concentrated passage and the space around it allows the work to suggest distance and residue without describing a particular place.
At room scale, the painting reads through the balance of blue and grey. Closer attention shifts towards the boundaries between these areas, where small changes in tone, texture and density complicate the apparent stillness.

FOR ARCHITECTS & INTERIOR DESIGNERS:
At 80 × 80 cm, What the River Helds VI offers a restrained, concentrated presence within a compact square format. Its scale makes it suitable for residential, hospitality, wellness and professional interiors where material depth and tonal subtlety are required without overwhelming the surrounding architecture.
As a stretched, unframed canvas, the work can be installed as presented or framed according to the requirements of the project. Sonia Jeronimo Studio can provide technical information regarding placement, framing, lighting, delivery and installation.

PHOTOGRAPHY & COLOUR ACCURACY:
The artwork contains a restrained range of blue-grey, mineral blue, muted grey and darker blue passages. These tones shift according to the quality, temperature and direction of the light.
Under diffused natural daylight, the quieter grey field and the transitions around the concentrated blue passage become more visible. Under warm artificial light, the darker areas gain greater density and the work develops a softer, more enclosed presence. Directional or lateral light reveals subtle changes in texture, surface density and reflectivity.
Digital photography cannot reproduce the full tonal depth and material variation of the original work. Online and printed images are therefore representative only; the original painting remains the definitive reference for colour, surface, scale and tonal depth.
