Blue Mineral Passage

€6,175.00

Atmospheric Blue Series — Blue as Behaviour · 2026

200 H × 270 W cm | Mixed media on canvas | Original artwork · Stretched · Dark-oak floating frame

Blue Mineral Passage carries a field of turquoise blue across a broad surface interrupted by darker, earth-toned passages. Movement is suggested through changing densities rather than through a depicted landscape.

Fine vertical traces meet irregular bands and more concentrated areas of texture. Blue remains open in some passages and appears held within darker material in others, giving the composition a rhythm of continuity and interruption.

Its monumental scale makes this rhythm legible across a room, while closer viewing reveals smaller variations in density, mark and surface. The work operates simultaneously as an extended spatial presence and as a material field that invites sustained attention.

The painting draws conceptually on processes associated with Serra da Estrela, Portugal — including sedimentation, erosion, weathering and geological accumulation — without illustrating the landscape. These processes inform how material, gravity and surface are allowed to behave within the work.

FOR ARCHITECTS & INTERIOR DESIGNERS:

At 200 × 270 cm, Blue Mineral Passage is conceived in direct relationship with architecture. Its broad horizontal format and substantial scale make it particularly suited to large residential, hospitality, corporate and contemplative interiors where the artwork can be experienced from several viewing distances.

The work is presented stretched in a dark-oak floating frame. Sonia Jeronimo Studio can provide technical information regarding wall requirements, placement, lighting, delivery, handling and installation.

Due to the dimensions of the work, international delivery requires specialist air freight. Shipping is quoted separately according to destination and installation requirements.

PHOTOGRAPHY & COLOUR ACCURACY:

The artwork contains turquoise, mineral blue, blue-grey, darker blue-black and earth-toned passages. Their relationships shift according to the quality, temperature and direction of the light.

Under diffused natural daylight, turquoise and lighter mineral passages become more apparent and variations across the broad blue field are easier to distinguish. Under warm artificial light, darker and earth-toned areas gain greater density. Directional or lateral light reveals vertical traces, irregular bands, concentrated areas of texture and subtle changes in surface reflectivity.

Digital photography cannot reproduce the complete tonal depth, chromatic behaviour and material complexity of the original painting. Screen calibration, white balance, ambient light, image compression and online colour profiles may alter the relationship between turquoise, mineral blue and darker passages. Online and printed images are therefore representative only; the original artwork remains the definitive reference for colour, surface, scale and tonal depth.
