Sediments of Silence III
Atmospheric Blue Series — Blue as Behaviour · 2025
60 H × 120 W × 4 D cm | Mixed media on canvas | Original artwork · Stretched · Unframed
Sediments of Silence III explores sedimentation as both a material process and a way of structuring stillness within the painted surface.
Blue develops through layered deposits, vertical traces and variations in density. Accumulation and gravity remain visible within the work, allowing the surface to register duration rather than resolve into a uniform field of colour.
The painting changes with light, viewing distance and position, revealing different relationships between mineral depth, surface variation and atmospheric presence.

FOR ARCHITECTS & INTERIOR DESIGNERS:
At 60 × 120 cm, Sediments of Silence III has a horizontal format that works particularly well above furniture, within circulation areas, and in residential, hospitality, wellness and professional interiors where a lower, extended proportion is appropriate to the architecture.
As a stretched, unframed canvas, the work can be installed as presented or framed according to the requirements of the project. Sonia Jeronimo Studio can provide technical information regarding placement, framing, lighting, delivery and installation.

PHOTOGRAPHY & COLOUR ACCURACY:
The artwork contains a carefully developed range of pale silvery blue-grey, mineral blue, navy and deep blue-black. These tones shift according to the quality, temperature and direction of the light.
Under diffused natural daylight, lighter passages and transitions between blue-grey and mineral blue become more visible. Under warm artificial light, darker areas gain greater density and the work develops a deeper, more contained presence. Directional or lateral light reveals vertical traces, layered deposits, surface irregularities and subtle variations in reflectivity.
Digital photography cannot reproduce the full tonal depth and material complexity of the original work. Screen calibration, white balance, ambient light, image compression and online colour profiles may alter the balance between pale and darker passages. Online and printed images are therefore representative only; the original artwork remains the definitive reference for colour, surface, scale and tonal depth.
