Dialogue Between Matter and Motion
Earthy-Atmospheric Series · 2025
100 H × 150 W × 5 D cm | Mixed media on canvas | Original artwork · Stretched · Unframed
Dialogue Between Matter and Motion places a warm, irregular band between a pale upper field and cooler passages below. The meeting of these areas suggests a horizon without becoming a description of one.
Grey, ochre, rust-red and blue create opposing movements within the composition. The warm band carries the eye across the surface, while descending marks draw attention into the cooler field. Neither direction entirely contains the other.
At room scale, the work is read through this balance of division and connection. Closer viewing makes the boundaries less certain, revealing interruptions, tonal shifts and material changes that turn a seemingly stable structure into a more active exchange.
FOR ARCHITECTS & INTERIOR DESIGNERS:
At 100 × 150 cm, Dialogue Between Matter and Motion has a horizontal architectural presence suited to residential, hospitality, wellness and professional interiors. Its broader format allows the composition to establish a clear relationship with furniture lines, circulation and wall proportion while retaining material detail at closer range.
As a stretched, unframed canvas, the work can be installed as presented or framed according to the requirements of the project. Sonia Jeronimo Studio can provide technical information regarding placement, framing, lighting, delivery and installation.

PHOTOGRAPHY & COLOUR ACCURACY:
The artwork contains a layered range of pale neutrals, grey, ochre, rust-red and blue. These relationships shift according to the quality, temperature and direction of the light.
Under diffused natural daylight, the separation between the pale upper field, warm central band and cooler lower passages becomes more visible. Under warm artificial light, ochre and rust-red areas gain greater density while cooler passages become more subdued. Directional or lateral light reveals descending marks, surface interruptions, layering and subtle changes in reflectivity.
Digital photography cannot reproduce the full tonal depth and material variation of the original work. Screen calibration, white balance, ambient light and image compression may alter the balance between warm and cool passages. Online and printed images are therefore representative only; the original artwork remains the definitive reference for colour, surface, scale and tonal depth.
