Series: “Spring´25”

“Spring ’25 “was born from a radical change in landscape — the moment I left the dense, constructed geometry of Lisbon for the vast stillness of Serra da Estrela. This move did not simply relocate my body; it reoriented my inner world. The concrete pulse of the city, with its speed, pressure, and noise, gave way to open air, silence, and a horizon shaped by mountains instead of buildings.

In this new environment, my work shifted. The palette softened, the compositions widened, and the gestures loosened into something more organic, intuitive, and alive. The paintings in Spring ’25 carry the sensation of stepping into nature after years of compression — the first full breath taken in an altitude where the mind clears and the heart recalibrates.

Light behaves differently in Serra da Estrela. It doesn’t strike; it expands. It moves slowly across stone, moss, wind, and sky. This quiet, atmospheric luminosity filters into the canvases, emerging as a kind of internal dawn — not painted on, but arising from beneath the layers. The works reveal a dialogue between stillness and movement, echoing the rhythm of the mountains themselves.

Where previous collections held the emotional weight of rupture and introspection, Spring ’25 opens into renewal. It is shaped by the experience of living closer to the elements — where texture becomes soil, gesture becomes wind, and color becomes the shifting weather of an inner spring.

This collection embodies the intelligence of the natural world: soft, cyclical, restorative. It reflects a self returning to its own ground — no longer shaped by urban intensity, but by the spaciousness of earth, rock, and horizon.

Spring ’25 is not simply a season.
It is a rebirth made possible by landscape —
a visual awakening shaped by mountains, silence, and the freedom to breathe again.
